Revisiting our volunteer spotlight series to continue thanking the special folks on our team who helped bring to you an amazing event this spring. Please meet Brittany Humpreys, who coordinated dozens of volunteers.
Brittany is new to the team and wanted to become involved more in Boise’s community, meet a few new people and step out of her comfort zone. Her reaction, looking back: “Best decision ever.” ❤️
Our team meetings enhanced Brittany’s appreciation that every fellow volunteer has an idea worth sharing to help make the event run smoother and inspire our audience. The variety of unique and “wonderful lifestyles” of our speakers was also quite inspiring.
Brittany has also given her time to events such as Alive After Five and the Twilight Criterium. You can find Brittany and her adventurous appetite exploring new restaurants that open downtown… or on the floor at home, putting together IKEA furniture. “It’s very random, but I love the sense of accomplishment I get out of putting something to together,” she said.
If you’re looking for a good video or two to watch this summer, Brittany will point you to her favorite TED speaker, Brené Brown opening up about vulnerability and shame. “She’s raw and authentic, these talks have really helped me to see myself and the people around me more clearly… we’re in this life together,” She said.
Thank you Brittany, and all our volunteers, for the time and care given to our organization. Again, this isn’t our first spotlight, so do meet the other amazing people we’ve been able to highlight so far: Christian, Alison and Soleil!
